Civic reception at Bethelem Town Hall

Wednesday 8th February

On Wednesday evening we went to Bethlehem Town Hall for a short reception. Some speeches, a video and some very enthusiastic dancing from local youngsters.

The Deputy Mayor of Bethlehem
Tony Lloyd in our party gave a talk as Interim Mayor of Greater Manchester
We found out a bit more about Bethlehem, a town of only 30,000 people with a council of 8 Christian councillors and 7 Muslim ones. 2 million visitors per year though! There are also two other municipalities right next to Bethlehem that make it feel a lot bigger than that. Dabke are a group of six young people from a youth centre who entertained us with some fantastic dancing.
